24 Weeks/ 6 Months and Easter!

So this is a warning that this will be a longer post because my 24 weeks/6 months post also happens to fall on Easter!  I am feeling pretty good just tired but that isn't surprising considering all the major changes going on in our life with working two jobs and raising two boys!

Easter was awesome.  My brother and sister were here and my sister is due just days before me so it was fun to see her and I love watching my single brother with my sons.  Something about watching a guy with kids...warms your heart.

First here is my pregnancy photo and update for you:

How far along are you:  24 weeks!
How big is baby: Your baby's the size of a cantaloupe! Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch baby weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week he gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.
Weight gain/loss: Weight gain.  Ugh.  I am still gaining.  I have gained back 5 of the 7 lbs. I lost.  I guess it had to happen at some point but I want to try to keep the gaining in check and I feel like I have lost control of it a little bit
Food cravings: The fish cravings have settled and with the Easter Bunny's delicious treats my sweet tooth has kicked in...ugh.  In the photos above I am carrying some Easter Bunny treats bloat (well and a baby of course too) :)
Symptoms: Still tired but it has subsided enough that I haven't taken a nap in a while and don't need to lay down as much but I do sit for a rest.  I have started exercising a little more so hopefully that is helping as I find my body getting quite stiff and achy if I go more than a few days without some solid exercise.  I am getting more achy as I mentioned...my back aches more and I need to be conscious of my posture, round ligament pain kicks in when exercising, and the stuffy nose continues.  I recently fought a cold my boys gave me, which was no fun!  My pelvis is definitely opening up more too.  When I wake up in the morning I find that I almost have to settle into my pelvis again as it is very achy when I first get up.
Stretch marks: None other than the ones acquired with the first two pregnancies and would love it it if stayed that way :)  The belly is expanding though so I am sure it is coming soon :(
Maternity clothes: Oh yes!  All non maternity stuff is primarily gone but since finally being able to pull out the t-shirts I have several of those I can still stretch over my belly :)
Sleep: A little better but the post nasal drip from the cold is kicking my butt.  Not good for the teeth but I often have to go to sleep with a cough drop in my cheek!
Best moment this week: Feeling little guy moving more and more.  His movements are more defined so I feel him throughout the day...love his constant reminder he is in there :)
Sex: Another boy!
Movement: Oh yes!  He is a combo between Handsome 1's constant movement and Handsome 2's lack there of often :)
Belly button: In but getting stretched!
Labor signs: No thank goodness!
What do you miss: A good night's sleep and being able to move around with ease.
What are you looking forward to this week: Continuing to feel little guy moving around and stronger and stronger kicks!
Something interesting about this week:  Even at 6 months and feeling frequent definitive movements I still "forget" I am pregnant at times.  Life is just so busy right now.  I am so thankful for this little blessing growing in me though!
This week's confession:  My appetite has increased tremendously and I am turning to sweets and quick snacks.  Need to get back to water, fruits and veggies!

And now here are some pictures from Easter:

We enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt from the bunny and then one at MeMe and Papa's where we had our annual Easter gathering with the extended family from Papa's side.  We enjoyed time with Auntie, Uncle Michael, and Uncle Trent as we ALL stayed the night at MeMe and Papa's house!  A good time was had by all.

Homemade Lotion!

I am feeling so accomplished today!  LOL.  It is all because I took maximum 10 minutes of my time start to finish and finally made homemade lotion!  I love that I know exactly what is in it and it was easy to make.  I have looked long and hard for a lotion that I feel does not contain ingredients I don't want and haven't found any so I am glad to have found this recipe.

It came out great and I, Handsome 2 and my mother have all tried it :)  My mother asked me to make her some so I am guessing she liked it too.  It actually really looks good enough to eat. Don't you think?

I tried it and like it. It is a little greasy if you lather too much on...a little bit goes a long way so as long as you use a little and rub it in well there is no greasy after effect.  I did not use any essential oil this time as I am not sure what I may like.  Lavender? Rose?  Chamomile?

Next I am going to try a homemade sugar scrub...stay tuned!

Fun with MeMe and Papa

Time with Meme and Papa almost always involves a tractor ride.  This time MeMe, Papa, Handsome 1 and Handsome 2 all got in on the ride!

March Showers Bring Clovers?

The boys got a clover kit from Nana for St. Patrick's Day.  We celebrate it in our family as their Great Grammie is from Ireland and 100% Irish making the boys 1/8th Irish :)

We celebrate this as I never knew much about "where I came from" so I am happy to share this little bit of history with them.  They never met their Great Grammie or Grampie from their Nana's side of the family as sadly they passed from a car accident when Hubby was a teen himself.  However, Handsome 2 shares the middle name of his Great Grampie!

The boys had fun and now we have them in the window waiting patiently to watch them grow!
